Jeff and Lauren celebrate our North-east snow heroes
Not all heroes wear capes, some have spades!

We’ve seen snow, wind… ice… and unsung heroes over the past few days so this morning on the breakfast show Jeff and Lauren took the time to say thank you!
We heard stories from across the North-east, from Samantha Ingram who wanted to say thank you to the farmers south of Stonehaven who spent days digging cars out from snow drifts to David Shewan who got in touch to thank the residents from Keirhill Gardens in Westhill who rallied together to clear their street of snow and ice to make sure neighbours were able to get out and about.

Meet Lemmy the Pug.
One of our snow heroes was Paul Gray from Aberdeen who was tracked down by Debbie Richmond on community Facebook page Fubar News after he helped save her pug Lemmy.
Debbie was walking along the River Don in Dyce just on her way to Stoneywood with her friend and her pug-cross, Lemmy.
They were checking his re-call and made sure he stayed away from the edge of the river but unfortunately, Lemmy got over excited and jumped onto the river, which at the time was iced over.
Very quickly, the ice thinned and Lemmy fell into ice cold water.
Without hesitation, Debbie jumped into the water but she couldn't break through the ice.
Paul noticed the ladies and Lemmy struggling and jumped straight in to help.
Her friend followed her in but they ended up in the same position as Debbie - not being able to reach Lemmy.
Luckily, local hero, Paul Gray, was walking his dog and saw the two struggling in the water and ran over to see what was going on.

He managed to create a passage for Lemmy to swim back to the edge of the river.
Just after they thought it was all over and Lemmy was safe, he fell back into the water again.
Between the three of them, they managed to get him out and make sure he was ok again!
Debbie phoned Northsound 1 to tell Jeff and Lauren her story and wanted to thank her saviour.
