Woman dead and three injured after Aberdeenshire crash

A woman’s died after a two-vehicle crash in Aberdeenshire.

The accident happened on the A952 near Mintlaw just before 10:00pm last night, Thursday 23rd August. Three other people were also hurt in the collision.

Police say the woman who has died was 67-years-old and from Peterhead. She was a passenger in a black Skoda Fabia that hit a red Fiat 500.

A 41-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where they are being treated for serious injuries.

A 65-year-old man driving the Skoda, was also treated for minor injuries.

Sgt Rob Warnock said: "My thoughts, and that of my officers, are very much with the family and friends of the 67-year-old woman who sadly died in this tragic collision.

"I would appeal to anyone who may have seen the crash or who may have seen either vehicle shortly beforehand and who hasn't yet spoken with police to do so as a matter of urgency to help us piece together exactly what happened."
