A woman’s fighting for her life after being hit by a car in Aberdeen.

At around 6.25am this morning, a 23 year old female pedestrian was knocked down by a red Ford Focus on Great Northern Road, near to Kittybrewster Primary School.

She was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious and life threatening injuries.

Road Policing Inspector Steve Manson said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision and who hasn’t already spoken to police to come forward. I am particularly keen for the occupants of a Silver Audi TT and a White Vauxhall Corsa, who appeared to stop after collision, to come forward. They may have information that could help us with our enquiries.

“I would also like to thank drivers in the area this morning, especially parents and children attending Kittybrewster Primary School, for their patience whilst we have been attending to this incident.

“The road will remain closed for the time being whilst we carry out our investigations. I would urge all HGV drivers to avoid the area and to use an alternative route through the city for the moment.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 0516 of 30 November. “
