Woman charged following Aberdeen crime wave

Police have charged a 22-year-old woman

Police investigating a string of offences in Aberdeen have charged a 22-year-old woman for crimes of dishonesty.

Over the past few weeks there have been five thefts from motor vehicles and nine thefts by opening lockfast places

They all happened in the Torry area of the city.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and she is expected to appear in court at a later date.

Some stolen property has been recovered, while inquiries are underway with regard to other outstanding items.

Detective Inspector Stuart McAdam said: "Crimes within our communities will not be tolerated and I can assure the public tackling acquisitive crime is at the forefront of our policing strategy.
