A mobile Covid testing centre is to be set up in Westhill today (Tuesday 22 June) after what is being called a "small rise in positive covid cases".

The unit will be open from 10am-3pm on Westhill drive at the town's library and is intended for use by those without symptoms.

Residents will self-test via lateral flow kits, and Aberdeenshire Council say there is no need to book in advance.

Scottish Government data shows the area has experienced 36 confirmed cases over the last week.

Westhill and Elrick in fact had the biggest rise in case numbers across the country, over the past week.

The figure for NHS Grampian might be slightly inflated today, this is due to a data flow issue over the weekend.

In yesterday's update the government noted the health board had experienced the issue between Saturday and Monday, but it had been resolved and any 'lost' cases would be added to today's total.
