WATCH: Trainspotting 2 film scenes in Scotland

The cast of Trainspotting 2 were spotted filming scenes for the long awaited sequel in Edinburgh today and we caught the action on camera.
Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) and Spud (Ewan Bremmer) were filmed running down a street outside of the Omni Centre.

The original film made overnight stars of the three lead actors, Ewan McGregor, Johnny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle and set director Danny Boyle. Based on the book of the same name by Irvine Welsh, the film is about drug addiction in Edinburgh.
Ewan McGregor recently told our Ents team what it was like to reunite with the cast for Trainspotting 2.
He described reading through the script as 'so strange and lovely'. He went on to tell us that it was 'very strange to be back in that room 20 years later, to be hearing the voices again'.

Trainspotting 2 is set for release in 2017.
