There's been another plea for information on a serious sexual assault that happened in Aberdeen 7 months ago.

Police are still trying to find the person responsible for attacking a 21-year-old woman in Union Terrace Gardens.

It happened on the 28th January 2016, between 03:00 and 04:00.

Crimestoppers is putting up a £5,000 reward for details that help get a conviction.

Angela Parker, Crimestoppers’ National Manager for Scotland, said: “This attack was on a young woman in the heart of Aberdeen.

“We are now offering a substantial reward for anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers anonymously.

"By contacting Crimestoppers, via the phone or our anonymous online form, we don’t ask for any personal details, you won’t have to speak to the police, and you won’t have to go to court.

"Just tell us what you know, not who you are.”

Back in January, Chief Inspector Graham Mackie said "This was a serious assault on a woman in the city centre and we would urge anyone who may have been in the Union Terrace Gardens area at that time and who saw or heard anything untoward to come forward with any information they may have. "I'd like to reassure the public that these types of incidents are unusual, however, we would encourage people to be vigilant.''
