A North East police officer has set a world record for the highest ever game of hockey.
PC Aaron White is just back from the Himalayas where he took part in a match four times the altitude of Ben Nevis - the UK's highest mountain.
The Inverurie-based road policing officer is fundraising for the military charity Hockey for Heroes, and the Aberdeenshire cop spoke to Northsound News on his return from Nepal.
He told us: "We were supposed to be doing two minute rolling subs, and I think after two minutes everybody was buckled. As soon as you came off the pitch it was just, try and get your breath back, try and get some air into your lungs, try and reacclimatise to the fact that we were quite high up, and even though we were essentially playing walking hockey it was still a massive exertion.
"Getting to sleep at night was difficult. At one point when I was sleeping I rolled over in my sleep and I woke myself up because I was out of breath just due to the thinness of the air.
"I enjoyed going into the villages and schools teaching and coaching hockey to people who've never seen a hockey ball or hockey stick before."
Speaking about any new potential challenges on the horizon Aaron said: "There's certainly been talk of the North Pole, there's mention of Everest."
