A grieving son wants to know why it took so long to find his dad's body in an Aberdeen shopping centre.

Frank Finnie, 80, opened a fire door and fell down a flight of steps at the Indoor Market on Thursday.

His body was found by police on Saturday.

His son Keith told Northsound: "I talked with Aberdeen Market and I asked if my dad was on CCTV.

"They asked me to come in to the manager's office where they told me he was noticed on the camera, unfortunately he was involved in an accident and unfortunately he had lost his life."

A spokesperson for Groupe Geraud, who own the market, said: "We are very saddened and shocked by the recent tragic incident at Aberdeen Market.

"Investigations are under way to understand what has taken place.

"Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Mr Finnie’s family at this very difficult time."
