An Aberdeenshire school girl's talking to Northsound about her fame after being picked by Jessie J on 'The Voice Kids'.

That's who Aiysha Russell chose to work with after turning 2-judges chairs including McFly's Danny Jones during the 14-year-old's audition.

The Banchory Academy pupil is now through to the battle round of the TV competition.

"The fact that the people in the audience came to watch me shows that I'm not horrible at singing" - AIYSHA RUSSELL

Speaking on Northsound 1's Jeff and Lauren in the morning the young woman from Drumoak told us: "I was on to perform, hoping to get a turn, but I was also thinking: 'wow, I'm on a massive stage performing in front of amazing coaches, so even this as an experience is amazing,' and then I managed to get to turns at the end.

"I've always watched it as a younger child thinking: 'that would be so cool to get on TV in front of a bunch of people and have other people at home watching me.

"The walk up to the stage was the worst part because it actually is a lot longer than it looks, but once I got there and I started singing, everything went away and I was in my own little world.

"The fact that the people in the audience came to watch me shows that I'm not horrible at singing.
