Warning from health board after man claimed to be doctor in Aberdeenshire
People in Oldmeldrum are being urged to take care - after a bogus doctor conned his way into an elderly woman's home.
It happened earlier this week - the man said his name was Doctor Gordon, but NHS Grampian don't know anything about him.
The woman wasn't harmed, and there didn't appear to be anything missing - people are being assured NHS staff will always produce identification if asked.
A spokesperson for the health board said:
"We were alerted to this incident earlier this week. We are relieved the patient involved did not come to any harm and no crime appears to have been committed. While it appears to be an isolated incident, we shared the details with other practices so they could make their own patients aware.
"We would remind the public that genuine members of NHS staff will always be able to identify themselves and will not be offended if asked to produce identification."
