Cash, jewellery and gadgets worth thousands have been stolen in two break-ins in Aberdeen.

A property in Montgomery Road was targeted between 5pm on Wednesday afternoon (March 28, 2018) and around 9pm that evening.

Meanwhile a property in the Auchmill Road area of Bucksburn was also targeted that day during similar hours.

DC Matthew McCall said: "We have been carrying out extensive enquiries in both areas since these crimes were reported to police, however we would now ask any members of the public who think they might have information which could help to please get in touch.

"Although these incidents happened in different areas of Aberdeen, given the similar times they happened we can't rule out that they might be linked. If you saw any suspicious activity or people in either area let us know.

"To have two similar incidents happen in such a short space of time is extremely disappointing. A huge amount of proactive work is carried out on a daily basis right across the North East to ensure you don’t become a victim of crime however it is crucial you still remain vigilant and ensure your property is locked and secure at all times. Some thieves will go out of their way to force entry, however others simply try doors until they find one unlocked so please don’t make it easy for them.

"Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting ref. no's 3843 and 4101 of Feb 28. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
