Aberdeen's mass vaccination site is set to move into the former John Lewis building.

It's understood the relocation from the P&J Live will happen next month (September).

The John Lewis in Aberdeen never re-opened after the Christmas lockdown, with bosses of the retail giant announcing in June it was one of the branches being axed.

Over the past few weeks staff have been clearing out the unit, and now the bottom floor it to be utilised as a vaccine centre by NHS Grampian.

A spokesperson for NHS Grampian said: "We plan to move our vaccination clinic from P&J Live to the former John Lewis store, in Aberdeen city centre, in the coming weeks."

The P&J Live will be looking to return to hosting conference and concert events.

It's not yet been communicated how issues like parking will be negotiated.

It's been free to park at TECA when getting your vaccine, but it's not apparent if a similar deal might be struck with the Bon Accord Centre for their multi-storey parking unit.

It's likely at least some of the population will be asked to get booster vaccines, so the mass centre will be integral in delivering those extra doses.
