It's claimed staff at Aberdeen's police call centre are being left in limbo over their jobs.

The closure of the 101 Bucksburn centre has been delayed until a new hub in Dundee is up and running.

It follows a review into call handling at Police Scotland, after the force failed to respond to an emergency call about a fatal crash on the M9 this summer, which officers failed to respond to for three days.

A staff member at the Bucksburn centre, who does not want to be named, has told Northsound News that workers have been in meetings about whether they'd be willing to move in the future - but they don't know when that will be.

A committment to maintain staffing levels means they can't take voluntary redundancy at the moment.

But it's understood management believe they need to continue to consult with staff about their options for the future - and it's simply not true that they're pushing ahead with redundancies.
