Two teenage boys are expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today in connection with a serious assault.

It happened in Gardner Road in Kincorth on Saturday at 7:45am.

A man in his 30s sustained serious injuries as a result. He required treatment at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, however his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

Two youths were detained and charged in connection with the alleged incident, which is understood to have involved weapons.

Inspector Steven McEwan, the Nigg Community Inspector, said: "Disturbances of any serious nature are extremely rare within the North East Division, and particularly within the Kincorth Community.

"If anyone was in the Gardner Road area, or even just the Kincorth area, on Saturday morning and witnessed anything that can help officers with investigations, I would urge them to contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
