Two Oil Firms Warn Employees Of Redundancies
Two more oil companies have confirmed fears that redundancies may be on the cards for its employees. EnQuest and DOF Subsea have both sent letters to their Aberdeen workers telling them to be prepared for the worst. EnQuest said they are considering cutting 9 North Sea jobs, and change rotas in order to reduce high operating costs, during this difficult time of low oil prices.
DOF Subsea have told workers they are looking into slash 20 UK jobs, but it is not known how many will be from the North East.
Since the summer, the price of Brent Crude has dropped dramatically from $110 a barell, to around $50 a barell.
