Two 33 year old men are due in court today after a storage building in Maud was allegedly set on fire deliberately.

The fire on Market Street caused damage worth a mid five figure sum of money, with everything inside totally destroyed.

It spread to the social club nearby, with some damage there as well.

Detective Sergeant Martyn Thomson said: "The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended this fire along with police. The storage building and its contents was destroyed and there was also damage to the Social Club Building.

"We would like to thank the public for assisting us while enquiries were carried out."
