Two classes at Kingsford School in self-isolation after positive covid cases

Two pupils have returned a positive result, meaning two Primary school classes will not be at school for the next 14 days.

Two full classes of children at an Aberdeen Primary School are in self-isolation after two pupils tested positive for covid.

50 children will isolate for 14 days from Kingsford School.

an ACC spokeswoman said:-

“On notification that two individuals (one in Primary 6 and one in Primary 4) have tested positive for COVID-19 at Kingsford School the school management team wrote to all families on Friday 25 September to make them aware of the situation.

“Following consultation with Public Health all children in the two classes (approx 50 pupils) will not attend school for 14 days as a precautionary measure. Public Health advised that all other young people can continue to attend school as normal.

“Pupils at Kingsford School who have to self-isolate will have access to online home learning and the hardware required to access this will be provided. School staff will maintain contact with pupils to ensure they have continuity in their learning and any other support required.

“Robust control measures in keeping with national Public Health guidelines are in place and Public Health has commended the strength of the control measures and swift action of Kingsford School.”
