Cannabis worth £19,000 has been recovered by police after a car was stopped on the A90 near Ellon earlier today, Friday 23rd March.

Officers from the Operational Support Division and the Formartine Community Policing Team were involved and two men from Liverpool, aged 28 and 19, have been charged and are due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday 26 March 2018 as a result.

Sergeant Steven McDonald from the Formartine Community Policing Team said: "This is another significant recovery of controlled drugs which would have been destined for the streets of North Aberdeenshire. Those who wish to cause harm by dealing drugs and prospering from it will continue to be targeted to ensure they are brought to justice.

"I would encourage anyone who has any information regarding the supply of controlled drugs to contact Police on 101, or if you wish to remain anonymous, via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by use of their online reporting tool."
