Three men have been charged following the recovery of Class A drugs with a 'street value' totalling in excess of £22,000 in Aberdeen.

CID Proactive officers carried out a drug search warrant at a property in the Strawberry Bank Parade area of the city yesterday (Wednesday May 31, 2017).

Diamorphine, 'Crack' cocaine and cocaine were recovered, along with a high four figure sum of cash.

The men - a 45-year-old from the Oxford area, and two local men aged 22 and 26 - were arrested and subsequently charged. They will appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today (Thursday June 1, 2017).

Detective Inspector Stuart McAdam said: "Thank you to those members of the public who provided information in connection with this intelligence-led inquiry."

He added: "There is no place for drugs in our communities and North East Division is committed to targeting those who choose to involve themselves in such crime, particularly those who come from out with the area and don't care about the consequences their actions can have on the people who live here.

"We will continue to take action to ensure the area is as safe as possible and a hostile environment for drug-related crime, and local communities can play the most crucial role of all by telling us when and where suspicious activity is happening. By having the confidence to tell us your concerns we can all make it very difficult for individuals involved in Serious and Organised Crime Groups to operate.

"Anyone with concerns should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.”
