Tributes to North East dad killed in crash
49 year old George Wiseman from the Whitehills area died in a road accident near Oldmeldrum
The man killed in a car crash on the A947 Newmachar to Oldmeldrum road has been identified by police as 49 year old George Wiseman from the Whitehills area.
His family have released this statement: "We are absolutely devastated at the tragic loss of George, a much loved husband to Jenny and father to son Gavin, 20, and daughter Olivia, 16.
"George worked at sea as a fisherman in Whitehills for years with his father Jamsie, and brother Eric, before latterly moving into the oil industry. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
"We would now request that our family be left as we try to come to terms with our sad loss."
The accident happened at around 3.55pm and involved Mr Wiseman's silver Mini and a southbound black Toyota Avensis.
The man driving of the Avensis was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
