Trains suspended due to 'do not travel' warning
The country's national train operator warned the Met Office's forecast for heavy rain means most lines will be disrupted.

Travel difficulty is continuing across Scotland as a month's worth of rainfall is set to hit over the course of today.
Rail disruptions
Scotrail warned this morning there would be major disruption to its services due to the amber weather warning issued for parts of the country.
The Helensburgh Central/Balloch to Dalmuir service will also stop, although services between Dalmuir and Glasgow will continue.
Low level services on the Argyle line from Glasgow Central have been cancelled after flooding at Bridgeton caused a signal fault, and services to East Kilbride will no longer run due to water on the tracks at Thornliebank.

The West Highland line, which operates in Oban, Mallaig and Fort William will be suspended as well as the Highland Main route between Perth and Inverness. There will be no replacement buses.
The affected routes are expected to be back in operation by Sunday morning.
Scotrail said the majority of other routes across its network will also be subject to temporary speed restrictions put in place as a safety precaution.
Customers have been advised to travel only when necessary, to expect delays, and to check their journey before setting off.

Road disruptions
The A8 at East Hamilton Street is closed in both directions, and drivers are being advised to plan alternate routes.
The A83 between Tarbert and Inverary, and along to the A815 at Dunoon is closed, as well as the A816 between Lochilphead and Oban because of flooding and landslides.
