Three teenagers have been charged in connection with an alleged robbery at a shop in Stonehaven.

It happened at the Best One convenience store last Thursday evening.

The boys are aged 17, 16 and 13.

The shopkeeper had treatment in hospital for a minor arm injury.

Inspector Fionnuala McPhail of the Stonehaven Community Policing Team said: "On behalf of Police Scotland, I would like to thank the numerous members of the public who came forward with key information which has assisted us with this case. "The fact that so many people have come forward, shows how close a community Stonehaven is. There is still a feeling of shock that an incident of this sort has taken place but I would hasten to add, that this is a particularly unusual incident for Stonehaven and our response shows that we will not tolerate this kind of behaviour."
