Thief targets Torry convenience store

The attempted robbery took place at Icon Stores on Oscar Road last night

There’s an appeal for information – after an attempted robbery at an Aberdeen corner shop.

The incident happened at Icon Stores on Torry’s Oscar Road around 8.45pm last night (Tuesday 8th August).

Police want to trace a man in connection with enquiries as he may be able to assist them. He is described as being aged in his late teens to early twenties, of slim build, white, around 5ft 9ins tall with dark brown hair. He was wearing work trousers with a reflective band just below the knee.

Enquiry officer PC Lewis Murray said: "No one was injured and nothing was taken but this is naturally a concerning incident for the store as well as the community. We would ask that anyone who saw anything unusual or suspicious or recognises the description of the male we would like to trace gets in touch with us quoting incident number 3790 of 8 August.
