Teenager Injured, Seven Drug Arrests at Aberdeen Festival

A teenager's been left with serious facial injuries after being attacked after an Aberdeen music festival.

Police also arrested seven people over drug offences.

Almost 1900 people attended Enjoy Music at Hazlehead Park on Saturday 25 July. which passed without major incident according to the police.

Two of those charged over drugs was in connection with being concerned in the supply. Quantities of ecstasy tablets and cannabis were among the drugs recovered. A 23-year old male was arrested in connection with an apprehension warrant while two males, aged 38 and 22, were charged in connection with anti-social behaviour. A male was also charged in connection with vandalism. A 19-year old male was taken to hospital suffering a serious facial injury after being assault on leaving the festival. Chief Inspector Murray Main said, "The vast majority of people attending the event enjoyed themselves and behaved responsibly. A small number of individuals have been dealt with, mainly for drugs related offences. "Unfortunately, a young male has become the victim of a nasty assault on leaving the event and after a minor disturbance within. We are especially keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incidents which occurred at about 9.45 pm near the exit of the festival and nearby on Hazlehead Avenue. "Officers are particularly keen to speak to two males who are thought to have been in the area at the time of the incident and may have important information. The first male is described as being white, 18-20 years old, 5ft 10" tall, thin build with mousey blonde hair, cut short at back and sides and longer on top. He was wearing a cream or white jumper, dark blue jeans and white Adidas trainers. "The second male is described as white, 6ft 2" tall, early 20's, slim-medium build, dark brown hair, shaved at back and sides and flat and down on top. He was wearing a dark blue/navy long sleeve jumper that had three white stripes running down each arm, dark jeans and black superstar Adidas trainers. Two males aged 27 and 26 years are expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today in connection with being concerned in the supply of drugs.
