Police investigating a fire at a North East school have charged a 14-year-old boy.

It caused more than £5,000 worth of damage in a toilet area at Meldrum Academy on Monday lunchtime.

It happened at around 1:30pm on Monday, 22 January.

Sergeant Wayne Bedford said: "This incident has resulted in a significant amount of damage to a toilet area at the school which will be costly to repair.
