A 14 year old boy has been charged in relation to alleged wilful fire raising incidents in Torry on Wednesday 26 September 2018.

A vehicle was found to be on fire on Kirkhill Place at around 8.20pm that night, and a short time later a motorcycle and pedal cycle were also found to be on fire at Girdleness Road.

The youth will be reported to the Youth Justice Management Unit.

Torry Community Policing Team Inspector, Chris Kerr, said: “I’d like to thank the community for their patience and understanding whilst we investigated these incidents, which were unrelated to the Gramps fires.

“Officers have been carrying out high visibility foot patrols in the area since these incidents occurred and these will continue to deter any further incidents and provide reassurance to the community, especially as Bonfire night is coming up next month.

“If anyone notices any suspicious behaviour I would ask that they call Police Scotland on 101 to report it to us."
