Teen charged over car theft and break in

A 19-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a break in at Braemar Mountain Sports - and with stealing a car.

A 19-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a break in at Braemar Mountain Sports last Wednesday.

He's also been charged over with the theft of a silver Passat which was later recovered in the Aberdeen area.

Sportswear worth a four figure sum has also been recovered by Police.

He's is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.

Detective Inspector Stuart McAdam said: "I would like to thank the public for their assistance and information during this inquiry." He added: "I would like to also take this opportunity to remind the public about the importance of keeping their homes, garages and vehicles locked and secure at all times to assist Police in tackling acquisitive crime. "Through Operation Magpie we continue to undertake a huge amount of preventative and in-depth analytical work to tackle crimes of this nature, however we need the public's help to ensure offenders don't stand a chance in the first place."
