Stolen car found in North East
It was taken from outside a property in Inverurie on Wednesday
Police Scotland can confirm that a black Vauxhall Vectra stolen from a property in the North East this week has been recovered.
The vehicle, which was taken from outside a property in the Millfield area of Inverurie in the early hours of Wednesday August 31, was recovered from the Mastrick area of Aberdeen last night.
Two stolen vehicles remain outstanding, and officers are continuing to appeal for the public to look out for cars matching the descriptions provided -
a Black Audi A3, registration number SW13AXR, also stolen from the same property in the Inverurie area in the early hours of Wednesday August 31 a White Honda CRV, registration number SV61SXB, which was stolen from Woodend Crescent, Aberdeen, on Tuesday August 30.
PC Terry Woods said: "I would like to thank the members of the public who shared our appeal and provided us with information which directly led to the recovery of this vehicle.
"We rely on the public to provide us with information, and I can’t stress enough the importance of contacting us as soon as possible if you see any suspicious activity, unfamiliar cars parked in your area or people who are causing you concern. Your assistance could turn out to be invaluable."
He added: "Once again I would urge people to ensure their properties, sheds, garages and vehicles are safe and secure so that opportunistic thieves don’t stand a chance. There has been several incidents of suspicious activity in both Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire in recent days, and we are committed to tackling those people who choose to involve themselves in such unwanted activity. We are increasingly finding that these criminals try door handles until they find one unlocked, and within seconds they can be gone with your valuables. "The most important immediate action I can urge you to take is to lock up and remain vigilant. Remove all your valuables from your vehicle if you leave it outside at night, ensure your doors are locked even when you are at home, and don't leave any house or car keys near your front door if someone does try to sneak-in.
