More than fifty Aberdeenshire schools are closed - as another wintry blast hits the North East.

There are big problems on many roads too - drivers are being urged to take care if they have to travel today.

This morning the Met Office have extended their snow and ice warning until tomorrow evening.

Train services were suspended between Aberdeen and Inverness, Inverness and Wick, Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh yesterday.

A North Sea platform shut down production due to safety fears over weather conditions caused by Storm Caroline.

CNR International removed all of the 159 staff on Ninian South, about 240 miles from Aberdeen, from the structure as a precaution on Wednesday.
