Sex attack inquiry police establish no crime committed

Police are no longer looking for anyone in connection with an alleged serious sexual assault in Aberdeen after it was established that no crime was committed.

The incident was reported to have taken place in the Walker Road/Grampian Lane area of Torry in the early hours of Saturday, July 30.

Detective Inspector Richie Guild said: We have conducted a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances and I appreciate that this reported incident has caused concern in the community.

The co-operation and patience of the people who have been visited by our door-to-door and CCTV teams during the course of this investigation has been very much appreciated and I would like to express my thanks to them.''
