Search for three men after 72-year-old attacked in Aberdeen

An Aberdeen pensioner needed treatment for leg injuries after he was assaulted in the city.

The 72-year-old was taken to hospital after the incident in the Ashgrove Road West area at around 2.15 on Friday, July 29.

Detectives say they are keen to trace three men in connection and it is believed they were seen acting suspiciously the previous evening and during the early hours of Friday including at Cairncry Court at 11.30pm, Stockethill Crescent at around 2am, Clifton Lane around 2.45am and Birkhall Parade around 3.30am.

Detective Inspector Stuart McAdam said: "This is a concerning crime and we understand that the community will be affected.

"Additional patrols have and will be carried out. We are urgently appealing to anyone who may have seen these men around the times given.

"If anyone saw anything suspicious or concerning, or has any information in relation to these incidents, we would ask that they contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111."
