North East MSP Gillian Martin has supported the decision of the Scottish government to offer the funding for emotional and practical support for victims.

The Aberdeenshire East representative says grants will be awarded to support groups who can apply by presenting how they'd spend the money.

The MSP said:

"The support will range from individual therapies, group work, peer support - it will be based on the organisations who apply for this funding."

"It's going to be led by the people who know best."

"It's important to victims."
