An amber wind warning has been issued in Aberdeen ahead of the expected arrival of storm Arwen tomorrow (Friday 26th of November).

The weather warning for wind is in place across much of the country on Friday, including all of the North East.

And some yellow snow warnings are also in effect in western parts of Aberdeenshire.

Residents are being warned by Aberdeen City Council that there may be high breaking waves and surging waves at Aberdeen beach.

The threat is particular in the Footdee area.

In response the council are putting out sandbags which residents are free to use.

They'll be located behind the public toilets in the area.

More info on the storm available from the Met Office.
