An Ex-police inspector from Aberdeen has been convicted of murdering his wife in the city last August.

Keith Farquharson claimed his wife's death was an accident.

He admitted previously had affairs, saying his wife did not trust him and he believed she suspected him of cheating again.

Farquharson admitted a struggle happened in bed on the morning of August 29 after his wife asked him if he loved her, to which he groaned.

He'd initially told Police he'd heard a noise while showering and returned to the bed room to find her unresponsive.

Later he admitted that was a lie due to his shock, and that'd he'd actually placed his hand over her mouth.

Farquharson will be sentenced next month.
