Report into baby ashes scandal published
"the Council must never forget the pain and upset it has caused grieving families."
The Chief Executive of Aberdeen City Council has released her report into the unethical practises at Hazlehead Crematorium.
Angela Scott has been looking at how to prevent any more wrongdoing - after it emerged the bodies of babies were being cremated along with unrelated adults without either family being informed.
Parents were then told there were no ashes to recover.
Ms Scott says the Council must accept that "the Council must never forget the pain and upset it has caused grieving families."
She is promising to work with them, bereavement charities and other groups on erecting an appropriate memorial.
An independent investigation has also been commissioned into how the crematorium was managed at the time.
But that will be kept confidential for what are believed to be data protection reasons.
