Celebrate Aberdeen weekend is coming and you’re invited
Celebrate Aberdeen is coming and at Northsound 1 we’re proud to be supporting the annual celebration of everything that’s great about our city.

Strut your (third sector) stuff
At the heart of Celebrate Aberdeen is its parade. The best and brightest of the city’s social enterprises, charities and voluntary organisations will take to Union Street on Saturday, 27 August. Look out – this year’s procession promises to be brighter, bolder and noisier than ever.

Reading this and wondering how you can get involved? Celebrate Aberdeen are looking for charities to sign up to the annual parade and also volunteers to help power the weekend.
Already the team has had more than 70 charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups sign up for this year’s third sector parade and around 30 entertainers register to perform at various locations throughout the city centre – but there are still more spaces to fill.
Morven Mackenzie, director of Aberdeen-based events company 46 Degrees, the leading force behind Celebrate Aberdeen, said: “Every year we want to show the third sector how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication to helping those in need and to give them the opportunity to thank their own staff, volunteers and service users.
“We have had a great start with more than 70 charities signing up to take part in this year’s celebration but we want more. We know for a fact there are hundreds of third sector organisations out there and we want them to come onboard. The parade is a great opportunity to raise awareness, build brand recognition and let people know what they do.
“We are also looking for musicians, dancers, singers and choirs to get involved. With Union Square and the Trinity Centre coming on board this year, along with us having an additional stage down on The Green, we can provide staging areas for people to showcase their talents.”
The deadline for signing up has been extended to the end of June.
