Member of the public helps Police apprehend wanted man in Aberdeen

A 45-year-old man was arrested on a warrant, with the good Samaritan helping out officers when the man became aggressive.

Police in Aberdeen are thanking a member of the public who helped subdue an aggressive man, who had a warrant.

The incident took place today (August 5) in a city centre churchyard.

The 45-year-old man had a warrant out for his arrest, and became aggressive when officers tried to apprehend him.

An onlooker stepped in to aid the cops, earning praise via the North East Police Division social media pages.

The man was eventually brought under control and nobody was hurt.

He will be kept in Police custody over night and appear in court tomorrow (Friday August 6).
