Power cuts hit thousands across North East
Scottish and Southern Energy Networks are working to get everyone's power back on
Scottish and Southern Energy Networks are working to get everyone's power back on, after extensive power cuts in the strong winds overnight and this morning.
Around 3,000 people were affected in the Insch and Huntly - all but a handful are now reconnected.
But around 400 homes and businesses are still affected in the Peterhead area because of a broken pole. They should have power restored by lunchtime.
There was also a cut in Kingswells after a tree was blown into a power line, and dozens of people are still waiting to get back on the grid.
There were also problems in the Ellon area due to a broken overhead cable, but that's already been fixed.
SSE said "We would like to apologise to our customers in the North East for the inconvenience and thank them for their patience as our teams of engineers work to restore their power as quickly and safely as possible."
