Portlethen family "absolutely devastated " by sudden death of son

Tributes are being paid to a teenage boy who died suddenly in Portlethen at the weekend.

Flowers have been laid in Portlethen in tribute to Zaine Grieve who fell ill and died on Saturday night in the School Brae area.

The emergency services were called to the area near Hillside School on Saturday night.

Police say there doesn’t appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

People gathered in the area last night to pay their respects

In a statement, Zaine’s family said: “We have been left absolutely devastated by the death of Zaine who was a much-loved son and brother.

“Zaine was extremely popular and will be missed by all his family and many friends.

“We would like to thank the passersby who stopped and tried their best to save Zaine’s life, as well as the emergency services who attended. We would also like to thank everyone who has sent us messages of support.”
