Police are investigating after a suspicious fire at a block of flats in King Street, Aberdeen yesterday evening (Thursday May 4, 2017).
Officers were alerted to reports of an incident at around 10.15pm within the ground floor of a building near to the junction with Regent Walk.
A fire had started near the communal front door, however was out before emergency services attended.
DC Norman McGlashan, who is leading the inquiry, said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area around the time in question and saw any suspicious activity or people to please get in touch.
"No one was injured or harmed thankfully, however the outcome could have been much worse. You don't know how a fire will develop and the outcome could be fatal.
