Police name local woman who died at property in Peterhead
Officers said they are treating Elizabeth Watson's death as murder
Police have named a woman who died at a property in Aberdeenshire on Tuesday as 58-year-old Elizabeth Watson.
Officers were called to Catto Drive in Peterhead at around 6.15pm on Tuesday where Ms Watson was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with her death and will appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court tomorrow.
While it is believed this is an isolated incident, there will be a police presence in the coming days.
The family of Ms Watson has released a statement through Police Scotland. It says: “Elizabeth was a much loved Mum and Grandma, she will be missed dearly by many."
Detective Inspector James Callander said: “Our thoughts are with Elizabeth’s family and friends at this difficult time, as well as everyone in the local community affected by her death.'
He added: “Anyone who may have information which could assist our enquiries is asked to call 101, quoting reference 3212 of 27 June.”
