Police Investigate Series Of Thefts In Macduff

Police Scotland is appealing for information following a number of thefts from addresses and vehicles in Macduff, Aberdeenshire.

The thefts took place in the High Shore, High Street, Manner Street and Garden Street areas.

They are believed to have happened between 9:00pm on Saturday 16 May and 12:00pm on Sunday 17 May.

As a result, electrical and personal items were stolen from a number of vehicles, while garden items were stolen from a shed and a garden.

The total value of good stolen is estimated at a mid three figure sum.

PC Jessica Murray, who is investigating the crimes, said: "These crimes happened overnight and I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area and has information to come forward.

"I would also like to remind the public not to take any chances with their security and to take steps to discourage criminals. Keep your vehicles locked and your homes secure, even when you are inside. Keep your valuables out of sight and remember that a simple act such as keeping your car keys out of easy reach of your door can be vital. This will remove any easy chances for thieves."
