An appeal has been issued following the sudden death of a woman in Aberdeen which may be related to a road crash.

Police Scotland say it's understood the 46-year-old woman had previously been involved in a one-vehicle collision while riding a black e-scooter.

The incident happened at around 5.20pm on Whitemyres Avenue on Monday 20 November.

A week later, on Monday 27 November, officers were called to reports of the woman found dead within a property in Mastrick Close.

Her death is currently being treated as 'unexplained'.

It's unclear if the collision and any injuries the woman may have suffered are related to her death, but Police are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to assist enquiries.

Sergeant Peter Henderson from Road Policing said: “While it is unclear at this stage whether the collision and any injuries the woman sustained contributed to her death, it is important that we establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“I am appealing for anyone who was in Whitemyres Avenue around 5.20pm on Monday, 20 November, and may have seen a woman riding a black e-scooter to please come forward.

“In particular I would urge any motorists with dash-cams who were on the road to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance to our enquiries.

“Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1784 of Monday, 27 November, 2023.”
