Police searching for two men after wilful fire at Peterhead property

It happened at around 10.40pm on Sunday.

Police are searching for two men following a wilful fire on a busy Peterhead road on Sunday evening.

The alarm was raised at around 10.40pm on Kirk Street where two men in dark clothing were spotted at the property when the fire started.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze and no one was injured.

The two men were observed running away in the direction of West Road.

Anyone with information of relevant CCTV footage is being urged to contact police.

Fire being treated as wilful

Detective Sergeant Richard Cooper said: "This incident occurred on a busy road and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened to please come forward.

"If you have any relevant dashcam footage or private CCTV that could assist our investigation or saw the two men in the area in the area prior to or after the fire, please contact us.”
