Police are appealing for witnesses after a 66-year-old man was seriously injured in a city center hit-and-run. The victim sustained injuries to the chest and leg.

The man was knocked down around 2:30 yesterday afternoon on Powis Terrace. A grey Lexus IS car, registration number SC06 XEL was involved

Police say the car was dumped in the Ashill Area of the city later on in the evening, with four men making off from the vehicle.

Road Policing Inspector Steve Manson, said: “It appears that the Lexus was being driven erratically prior to the incident and after being involved in the collision with the pedestrian it failed to stop.”

“We are appealing for anyone who saw the collision, or saw the Lexus before or after the incident, to get in touch. In particular, if you have dash-cam footage that can assist our enquiries then please contact us."
