Police investigating the theft of more than £10,000 from an ATM at a supermarket are appealing for information about a car seen in the area.

The cash machine at the Co-op store in Kingswells, Aberdeen, was targeted at about 1am on Monday.

Police said a low five-figure sum of money was taken in the incident.

They have now appealed for anyone who saw a grey or dark Audi estate in the area at the time to contact them.

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Dowall said: "It is believed a vehicle was used in this crime and we would appeal to any members of the public who may have seen anything suspicious or unusual, late on Sunday night or in the early hours of Monday morning, to get in touch with us.

"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who recalls seeing a grey or dark coloured Audi estate in the Kingswells area between 12.30am and 1.00am on Monday morning to come forward as this may be relevant to our inquiries.''
