Police in Aberdeen have extended their search of the River Dee as they continue to look for missing sisters Eliza and Henrietta Huszti.

The sisters, both aged 32 were last seen on CCTV on Market Street at Victoria Bridge around 2.12am on Tuesday January 7.

Officers believe the pair crossed the bridge and turned right onto a footpath next to the River Dee heading in the direction on the Aberdeen Boat Club.

Specialist units have been helping with the search, including a police helicopter, dog branch, and the marine unit, along with emergency service partners.

The search for the sisters has been extended along the River Dee

Police will remain at the scene as searches continue along the coast towards the South Harbour, and back towards Duthie Park.

Officers in Scotland are working with authorities in Hungary, where the sisters are from, to support their relatives.

CCTV footage from the area where Eliza and Henrietta were last seen is also being examined, with officers carrying out door to door enquiries and speaking to businesses.

Police say the River Dee remains the focus of searches, and police say there is no evidence of the pair leaving the immediate area.

Eliza and Henrietta are both described as white and of slim build with long, brown hair.

"The focus of our search remains the River Dee and I would again ask, if you were in the area at the time, please think back, did you notice anyone matching their description?
