Police in the North East are cracking down on lorry drivers and haulage companies breaking the law.

Today they've been pulling drivers of large commercial vehicles into the DVSA centre in Bridge of Don to asses their road worthiness, as well as checking drivers aren't working over their allotted hours.

Northsound News went along for a look, and our Reporter was told issues such as overloading vehicles, and overworking drivers have been on the rise in the region.

This could be down to the current shortage in drivers across the UK, but Officers in Aberdeen were clear, that is no excuse for breaking the law.
