Police Begin Inquiry Into Kingswells Cash Machine Raid

Published 3rd Aug 2015

Thieves have targetted an ATM in Aberdeen.

Police Scotland was informed by members of the public at around 01.00 this morning that a cash machine next to the Co-op in Kingswells was being broken into.

Authorities have already made lines of inquiry into who might be behind the raid.

DC Alex Dowell said: "We were initially notified by members of the public so that is one line of enquiry that we are following up."

There have been several cases in the North East where cash machines have been targetted by thieves.

When asked whether or not it could be the same individuals responsible for the damage, DC Dowell said: "that is one possibility, it's far to early to confirm but that is one line of enquiry we are following up to check if these are related."
